Would it be possible (and by possible I mean not extremely hard ;) ) to combine this design with electronics responsible for the drums taken out of a Hing Hon to make a little drum machine? :)

Nice one! I'm glad you all liked the link.

I don't think it would require too much electronics knowledge to make a lo-fi drum machine controlling the Hing-hon's drum pads. You would have to wire it up so that for every 'beat' you have 4 switches controlling which drum sounds are on or off. Although, I'm not sure how you would get it to switch 4 sounds on at the same time. Vactrols maybe?

I got out bid on a Hing-hon last week on Ebay. I'm sure it was one of you bastards!
