tiger electronics k28, anyone?
« on: July 18, 2011, 05:35:16 AM »

yo-

Found this floating around online, and snagged it for .99 US:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150630699477&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

To my amazement, I've been unable to find anyone's documentation of a bent k28. This came out in 1981 or 1984 as a competitor/ripoff of the TI devices, so my guess is that it's quite capable of yielding worthwhile bends...

...in fact, I'm having a difficult time finding any information at all pertaining to this device aside from a blurb on Tiger Electronics' Wikipedia page. Seeming more and more obscure as I dig.

Anyone tinkered with this before?

Cheers

I'd be willing to bet that apart from the circuitry for the screen, 90% of that is identical to the Coleco Talking Teacher. Theres a few different versions of the TT and they all come in the same case. I've never seen one quite as Battlestar Galactica as that one before, but i bet it has the same speech synth.

That makes sense---I'll post pics/vids when the BSG-ish goodness arrives and I crack it open. Thanks for the input:)
