Plasma ball theremin...
« on: November 12, 2006, 07:52:04 PM »

... could one be made?

A friend and I have been pondering this.
Would there be any possibility that a plasma ball could be used as an alternative to the standard antenna/ariel for a theremin or is that a stupid and/or dangerous thing to consider?

any thhoughts?

I would have thought that anything involving a plasma ball would be so electrically noisy that it would be useless.

I'm not entirely sure how these things work but theres going to be an enormous amount of voltage at a fairly low current already running through the knobbly bit (technical term) on a plasma ball isn't there. Although it would be very cool if it worked.
