Body Contact Points - Advice needed!
« on: March 15, 2010, 08:38:49 PM »

Hey guys,

So I've just built myself one of these:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=25238

And I've been mucking about with bending it.

I've discovered a load of great contact point bends, but these don't really seem to translate when I solder to them - Any ideas or am I being thick?

Cheers in advance.

Sorry to bump this, but it's complete...

And it's damn noisy too.

Usually if a body contact doesn't work (in my experience anyway) it just means that you're not getting the right amount of contact needed, so you'll more likely need to step it up to a potentiometer/photocell/switch/whatever. Or if you can find metal bits with more surface area, you may want to try that.

In the end I just soldered a bit of wire to drawing pins. Sounds beastly, I'm chuffed with the result.
